Specialty Brands Sales Representative

Job Summary

The Specialty Brands Manager is responsible for the sales and marketing of all Better Brands’ “Specialty Brands” portfolio of wines and spirits with an emphasis on new brand management.  This position serves as the direct liaison for wines and spirits and the BBI operation with particular focus on achieving execution on key measurables including volume, distribution, and displays.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the Specialty Brands Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships between suppliers and retailers; communicate effectively within organization plans for those brands within the segment
  • Effectively communicate with management, internal sales teams and external customers to maximize sales and distribution of wines and spirit product offerings
  • Manage the growth and generate sales of wines and spirits product offerings; successfully launch new products in the segment
  • Plans and supervises promotional activities for wines and spirits products; assists in selling in programming opportunities and looking for way to grow brands
  • Collaborate with Channel Leads and Key Account Managers to ensure supplier and local programs are appropriately merchandised and provide P.O.S direction
  • Monitor retail pricing to reduce completive promotional advantages
  • Focus on achieving all assigned sales goals (i.e. quotas, volume, distribution, promotions, weekly and monthly objectives)
  • Manage relationships with Suppliers and conduct Market Rides with supplier reps when they are in the market
  • Other duties as assigned by management as business conditions warrant

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • 7-10 years sales related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic or intermediate knowledge of wines and spirits industry concepts
  • Extensive knowledge of brands and suppliers within the portfolio
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, esp. Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to consistently report to work and to client meetings in a timely fashion
  • Ability to interface effectively with other department, customers and vendors
  • Ability to behave in a manner which will display loyalty to Better Brands
  • Ability to be a self-starter and a highly motivated sales professional

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend and climb stairs and lift, push and move up to 25lbs. The employee is occasionally required to reach, sit and use hand eye coordination.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Travel for client visits on a daily basis in changing climate conditions.
